As you reach the lake, a local-men boat will take you for a water trip in the lake before it debarks on a peninsula for a waterside lunch. When the sky is clear, enjoy it with the view of Muhabura volcano before embarking the boat again to head to the shores for departure. Along the way in Musanze, you will have a stop-over for leg stretching before getting back to Kigali and being dropped-off by 18h30 estimated.
What to wear:
Shoes: Comfortable, covered walking shoes
A hat and a sweater or jacket (comfortable clothing will help you to enjoy the experience)
Not wheelchair accessible
06h30-07h00: Pick-up and leave Kigali by a Countryside Tours guide to drive 3 hours approx.
10h30-12h30: Reaching Ruhondo lake, a boat will take you for a water trip around in the lake.
12h30-14h30: Back from the boat trip, enjoy a waterside lunch at My Hill Eco lodge in Ruhondo.
Head back to Kigali via Musanze town
14h30-18h00: Drive back to Kigali city.
Along the way in Musanze: Stop-over at Migano Cafe for leg stretching, using the washrooms before proceeding to Kigali.
Arrival in Kigali city around 18h30.
