Visit The Genocide Memorial Site And Kigali City Tour
Have an early morning breakfast at the hotel in Kigali as your safari guide briefs you about the 2-day Gorilla trekking safari in Rwanda, then after head out for the Kigali city tour, Visit the Genocide memorial site for observation and learning about the shading of blood during the 1994 genocide and also visit some local markets, then have lunch and embark on the transfer to Volcanoes National park which is 80km north of Kigali city with an altitude of 2400m to 4,507m. Upon arrival at the park, we shall a cultural tour of the Ibywachu village. Have dinner and overnight as you prepare for gorilla trekking adventure the next day.
Trekking Gorillas And Transfer To Kigali
After breakfast transfer to the Kinigi Park headquarters by 7:00 am for the briefing about the do’s and don’ts of the Gorilla Trekking activity. After the briefing, embark on the Mountain Gorilla trekking via the paths in the bamboo forests, this adventurous activity takes between 2 to 6 hours to track the mountain gorillas. When you meet the gorillas face to face you will observe them jumping from branch to branch, feeding, playing, and grooming. Only 1 hour is given to trekkers to keep closer to these gentle giants. You will also spot buffaloes, monkeys, birds, and forest elephants through the forests. Later, transfer back to the lodge for lunch before checking out and transfer back to Kigali to your hotel or the airport.
