Akagera national park was named after River Kagera which flows along with the Rwanda and Tanzania border feeding into Ihema and other small lakes. Akagera National Park has a wide range of biodiversity including landscapes, vegetation, and animals, the savannah landscape of acacia, open grasslands and woodland, bushes and shrubs, lakes, and swamps.
