Apoka Lodge
As remote as you can get
When you close your eyes and think of Africa, the landscape you imagine – the jagged hills, the golden grasses, the plains dotted with wildlife, the soft glowing light – is likely to be Kidepo. This is Uganda’s most remote park, far away from city life.
The vast golden green plains punctuated with craggy, rocky outcrops, reveal an even bigger sky at night. Under a canopy of impossibly bright stars, this is where we are reminded that the earth is round.
Wildlife in Kidepo is abundant. Lions, leopard, cheetah, elephant, giraffe, zebra (this is Uganda’s only park where giraffe and zebra are found together), possibly Africa’s largest herds of buffalo, hartebeest, waterbuck, bushbuck, warthog…the list is endless. Better still, much of it can be seen from the privacy of your veranda or your outdoor bathtub, but the best way to see the wildlife is up close: on foot, or in one of our open-top Landcruiser.
Buhoma Lodge

The location of each establishment has been carefully selected, and each has been designed to be eco-friendly; built in such a way to minimize the impact or ‘footprint’ on the surrounding area. Environmental Impact studies have been undertaken during the development stages, in order to build and run the camps/lodge within acceptable levels. We construct using local materials, with minimal impact on our surroundings, and utilize locally grown foodstuffs in order to support the community.

Clouds Mountain Gorilla Lodge
Set on a forested ridge near the entrance to the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, Clouds Mountain Gorilla Lodge boasts eight spacious cottages built from volcanic stone. Spectacular views stretch all the way to the Virunga Volcanoes of Rwanda, as well as across the border into the Congo, where the glow of Nyiragongo Volcano can be seen on a clear night. Warm and welcoming, each cottage features a bedroom, ensuite bathroom with walk-in shower and separate lounge. Comfortable chairs on the outdoor verandas provide the perfect vantage point to admire the unforgettable vistas of the forest below. Blazing fireplaces create a cozy glow as evening falls.
Meals are prepared using the freshest local ingredients and served in front of a roaring fire in the dining area or in the privacy of your stone cottage. The lodge is situated within easy walking distance of the trail where guests can begin their gorilla trekking adventure. Guided forest walks and birdwatching expeditions explore the surroundings, while local community visits give a glimpse of traditional life.
Ishasha Wilderness Camp
Ishasha Wilderness Camp is an idyllic retreat for people who truly enjoy the wilderness. This intimate camp has been awarded a TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence for its superb quality accommodation and exceptional service.
Set next to the Ntungwe River, each of the camp’s ten spacious canvas tented rooms has a private verandah overlooking the river. Comfortably furnished with large mosquito-netted beds, all rooms are en suite with hot ‘bush’ showers, running water for hand basins and a flushing ‘eco-friendly’ toilet.
The thatched central lounge and dining area provide a comfortable setting for meals and relaxation, although we often serve meals ‘al fresco’ next to the river. In the evening, the outdoor fireplace is the perfect place for guests to relax with sundowners and share their day’s experiences.
Being within the park the wildlife is free to also pass through the camp and elephants can be seen bathing in the river, buffalo enjoy grazing and resident troops of Black-and-White Colobus and velvet monkeys are frequently viewed. If you are lucky, George, the lone hippo, can also be seen beside the camp. Our attentive security staff are always on hand to escort and assist you should you feel the wildlife is too close! Bush breakfasts and sundowners within the park complete the ‘bush’ experience offered at Ishasha Wilderness Camp.
Kyambura Gorge Lodge
Set between the Kyambura Gorge and Queen Elizabeth National Park, Kyambura Gorge Safari Lodge boasts eight beautiful and spacious bandas nestled on the hillside, each with its own bathroom. Warm and welcoming, each banda overlooks a different aspect of the panoramic views across the gorge and the lush savannah of the National Park, stretching all the way to the Rwenzori Mountains. Meals are prepared using the freshest local ingredients and served in the dining area. Kyaninga Lodge

Buffalo Safari Lodge
Buffalo Safari Lodge is located at Queen Elizabeth Park, Katunguru Bridge, near the magical Kazinga channel, 1km off Kasese-Mbarara road, Western Uganda. The lodge has both standard and deluxe cottages, making a total of 17 rooms currently. This is ideal for large groups of 20 guests or more. Nkuringo Bwindi Gorilla Lodge
Unspoiled and untamed, Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is one of the world’s last remaining rich ecosystems. It is spread over a series of steep ridges and valleys that form a protective habitat for the mountain gorillas, the main attractions in this pristine jungle.
The Nkuringo section of the forest is home to three Mountain Gorilla families. Nkuringo Gorilla Lodge provides a prime access point to the start of the excellent gorilla trekking activity. And about 25 minutes’ drive away if another trailhead, Rushaga, has eight habituated gorilla families and is also an alternative to trekking Nkuringo gorilla groups.

Our latest and most remote property of Nature Lodges, Kidepo Savannah Lodge does justice to this wildlife gem which has received several international awards as one of the greatest Parks of Africa. Being just 500 mt away from Kalokudo gate, the lodge is literally on a stone’s throw from the park. It offers unparalled vistas of the expansive Narus Valley, Mount Morungole and the distant mountain ranges which form the border with Southern Sudan.
